Bradleys Baby Blanket Pattern






Bradley's Baby Blanket

1 ball Red Heart Comfort 454gr White
1 ball Red Heart Comfort 454gr Blue
1 ball Red Heart Comfort 454gr Yellow
1 ball Red Heart Comfort 454gr Red

afghan hook 5mm (is longer than regular hook and has an end like a knitting needle)

special stitches afghan stitch - this stitch is worked over 2 rows

Make 6 strips (see chart for colours)

strip 1

using white
Chain 25
row 1 (foundation row) Insert the hook into the 2nd chain from the hook, wool over pull through - leave on hook do same to all stitches in row
row 2 wool over and through first stitch then after that wool over and through next 2 stitches till end
repeat rows 1 and 2 till 15 complete patterns
change to blue
work 15 patterns
change to white
work 15 patterns
change to yellow
work 15 patterns
change to white
work 15 patterns
change to red
work 15 patterns
bind off at last stitch

Complete strips as follows

Red - White - Yellow - White - Blue - White
White -Yellow - White - Blue - White - Red
Yellow - White - Blue - White - Red - White
White - Blue - White - Red - White- Yellow
Blue - White - Red - White - Yellow -White
White - Red - White - Yellow -White - Blue


Join with white by either crochet or sewing

Edging - worked on right side


Starting anywhere using red (or any colour you like)
Chain 1, single crochet all round joining to chain 1


Cluster border
Round 1
Join
yellow (or any colour you like) to first stitch with a slip stitch wool
over, insert hook in same stitch, wool over, draw up a loop 3 times,
wool overrull through all 7 loops on hook (one cluster) *skip 1 stitch
insert hook in next stitch wool over draw up a loop ( wool over insert
hook in same stitch wool over draw up a look twice wool over draw
through all 7 loops on hook *repeat around blanket fasten off to slip
stitch
Round 2
Join Blue (or any colour you like)
With a slip stitch to slip stitch of first row 1 sc in same stitch - 2 sc in each space between clusters to end
Join with slip stitch
